Lakeland Tipi Wedding on the Shores of Buttermere in the Lakes

Katie and Dave had a long and twisty ride on the corona-coaster, with three different wedding dates and endless changes of plan. Happily, they finally got the late May wild wedding of their dreams and it was so worth the wait! Katie is super-creative illustrator and had put so much thought and care into all of the decorations in the tipis. Nestled right on the shores of Buttermere they looked like they’d just sprung out of the ground! Check out Katie’s gorgeous artwork and the amazing bike wheel hoops which are a nod to their mutual love of mountain biking.

The rain held off long enough for them to enjoy an outdoor ceremony in the woods by the edge of the lake. Watching Katie and her dad and bridesmaids wandering down through the woods was magical. After the vows it was then time to take the scenic stroll over to the fabulous tipis for the wedding reception. The happy guests all snuggled inside with endless food and drink, nipping into the bracing wind now and then to take in the glorious views.

In the evening the dancefloor was always packed and the bar was always busy. I drove off in the last of the light, still taking in what a beautiful place it was for a celebration.
