Tweedies Bar and Lodge sits right in the heart of Grasmere village and is much loved by locals and tourists alike.
This super friendly family-run venue is set within beautifully kept private gardens and one of the real draws from a photography point of view is that it’s just a short drive to some of the best portrait locations in the Lake District.
There are various options for your ceremony – outdoors if it’s fine, or in the cosy lounge or beautifully dramatic dining room if you’d prefer to be indoors. For your getting ready photos you can choose from a range of beautifully decorated, light-filled bedrooms and suites.
Lovely chef James leads the kitchen and creates insanely good seasonal, locally inspired treats for all. The beer and wine menus are of course all on pointe too. You can absolutely be assured of being well fed and watered here!
One of the nicest things about this Lake District wedding venue is that they don’t do heaps of weddings and elopements. It’s a bit of a hidden treasure and never has a conveyor-belt feel.
If you’re after everything a big wedding venue offers but on a more intimate scale then this could be the perfect choice for you.
