Dogs at Weddings – Photo and even outfit inspiration!

Thinking of taking your dog to your wedding? Here are a few of the canine guests of honour I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. The Lake District is the perfect area to get married if you’re thinking of bringing along a dog or two. With so many fells and lakes it’s a perfect playground and you’ll find that the majority of wedding venues are dog-friendly. Many even offer dog afternoon tea!

If you’re unsure about whether or not to bring your dog along, remember you can always book someone like the Ambleside Dog Walker to occupy them for a while if you think you’ll need a break!

If you’re eloping and wanting your dog to be part of your photos, I would recommend making sure you have a way to secure your pooch so that we can also do some photos without them. A lot of the shots I take are waist up, and it can look a little odd if there is a hand holding a lead but no dog in view! You’ll know what works best for your dog – whether this is some time chilling in their crate in the hotel room, or a screw in the ground leash. Remember you won’t have any guests to hold onto doggo and whilst I’ve tried to both dog sit AND take photos it doesn’t always end up well for my balance and the muddiness of my bottom!!
