Gilpin Lakehouse Wedding – Autumn Celebration with Arcade Games and Falconry!

A full day Gilpin Lakehouse Wedding is always a treat for me. I mainly shoot elopements here so don’t get as long to play with!

When I met Emma and Jonathan for their pre-wedding shoot I knew straight away this was going to be a great wedding. They were quiet but confident, and bold enough to do things their way. I also knew they’d perfectly match their chosen wedding venue – the stunning Gilpin Lakehouse.

The autumn colours were just appearing in the Lakes, and the beautiful blooms by Brackens of Bowness really enhanced this. Kevin and the Brackens team are amazing at introducing the warm tones of the season into the different rooms of the Lakehouse.

Emma’s Sassi Holford dress from The Harrogate Wedding Lounge was definitely one of my favourite of the year. It just suited her perfectly – cute, elegant and with just enough swish. Teamed up with divine hair and make up by Lucy P she looked like an autumn angel!

The drinks reception saw the appearance of a surprise falconry display! In over 800 weddings I’ve never seen this, but it was just brilliant and loved by all ages. I can’t recommend the guys at Lake District Falconry enough. They’re the perfect addition to a Gilpin Lakehouse Wedding and it made for great photos too.

Emma and Jonathan were’t too bothered about dancing the night away, so they chose to do a surprise first dance on being called into dinner. In the evening they then chose sparklers and AIR HOCKEY AND ARCADE GAMES!! Such a cool end to the day, I loved seeing everyone’s competitive side come out!
