New House Farm Wedding Photography in the Lakes

New House Farm has been a favourite place of mine for wedding photography for many years now. It’s always a joy to make the very scenic journey to the North of the Lakes. This was my first visit back to the affectionately known NHF since pre-Covid times and it was great to be back. The newly converted stable block is such a fab addition to the venue. It is flooded with natural light, has great open views and in poor weather allows a great indoor area for guests to mingle before moving over into the characterful barn.

ANYWAY…I should be talking about Jen + Mike! These guys had more than a few turns on the old Corona-coaster! After careful rescheduling and a new family member it was finally game on for their wedding day. With great late-August weather, a supplier line up to die for and a big group of family and friends ready to party it was all go!

Having done a pre-shoot (pre Nora baby!) up at Rannerdale Knotts, we knew returning there on the big day was to be a priority. Driven by the expert Spike we cruised along the shores of Crummock Water, stopped for a few photos and then prepared for the short steep hike upwards. You’ve GOT to check out Jen’s amazing Ikea bag hack – it’s so good!

The evening light was so lovely back at the barn that Simon and I decided to take things into our own hands (literally!) and move the cake cutting outside. This worked so well, with a beautiful back drop for a beautiful cake. Check out the tiny dairy-free version made by Sally too! Before we knew it, it was time for sparklers and then a big old knees up in the barn. What a perfect wedding day!
