Elisa and Pete’s wedding fell at the very end of one of my busiest weeks of the year, and quite honestly it could not have given me any more energy and joy when I needed it!

The venue….The Lancrigg…is an utter dream. Steeped in history it has welcomed the likes of Robert Burns, Coleridge, Wilkie Collins, Charles Darwin, Charles Dickens, Tennyson and Wordsworth and just oozes natural romance in an unpretentious yet hugely impressive way. Simon and his team have so lovingly restored both the house, barn and gardens, carefully uncovering the layers of history and making the most of the positive changes it has seen whilst painstakingly correcting some of the dodgier choices that were made over the centuries.

A lot of the hard work is evident in how stunning it all looks, whilst I suspect even more of the endless tasks aren’t seen but just keep it perfectly ticking over in the background. Then you drop in Elisa and Pete…with their impeccable taste, their own stories and tales so perfectly told in the details of the day….the confetti, for example, was collected by Elisa over the years from all the roses Pete bought her. I mean come ONNNNNNN….these guys are AMAZING! I could sit on the Lancrigg terrace and literally write a whole novel about the day, but I am better at telling stories in photos, so here are a few – plus some little video highlights I captured too….I hope you all love this wedding as much as I did!
