Popular with autumn weddings, rusty orange tones work great with a wide range of venues and styles. Associated with optimism and adventure, orange tones give a bold, uplifting feel to your day. Although blue is the strict complimentary colour to orange, it also looks amazing paired with a dark bottle green or pale grey (both close to blue on the colour wheel).

Check out these recent weddings I have shot for some inspiration on how to bring these trendy tones into your wedding plans!

Askham Hall Autumn Wedding – Naomi and Zak

I loved how Naomi and Zak paired burnt umber and copper colours with wooden textures and a splash of sage green. The palette worked perfectly with the stately home and bank barn surroundings of Askham Hall. For more examples of Askham Hall weddings please click here.

Ashes Barn Summer Wedding – Charlotte and Sam

Successfully predicting a coming trend, Sam and Charlotte were ahead of the curve with their Ashes Barn Wedding in later summer 2022. I particularly loved the mismatched bridesmaids dresses and the pairing of the oranges with dark bottle green and gold – super classy!

Inn on the Lake Autumn Wedding – Hayley and Jordan

Hayley and Jordan did such a classy job of bringing these autumn colours into every aspect of their wedding. They looked great paired with tweed and cream satin at this classic Lake District venue.

Gilpin Lakehouse Autumn Wedding – Emma and Jonathan

I adored the warm, light, boho feel of this wedding. Emma and Jonathan did a great job of working with their florist to bring the outside in, with flowers spilling out all over the Gilpin Lakehouse. Again they worked great with the bottle green satin of Emma’s sister’s dress.

You can view more Gilpin Lakehouse weddings here and a full blog of Emma and Jonathan’s wedding here.
