I started shooting Lisa and John's wedding day just a stone's throw from home, at our gorgeous local the Punchbowl Inn, Crosthwaite, where Lisa and her ladeez were all getting ready. It was a damp start to the day, but spirits were high, with Gemma Louise on hair styling duty and Polly Winder working her magic with the make up brushes.
After a couple of relaxed hours it was time for Lisa to get into her A-MAYYY-ZING dress (from those clever ladies at Mears Ghyll) and it was off down the road to Winster church for the ceremony, led by the ever-wonderful Reverend Michael Woodcock.
As the vows were spoken the rain clouds parted, and friends and family gathered happily outside the beautiful church to congratulate and confetti. Can confetti be a verb? I think so.
On the way through to Windermere we made a stop off for some lakeside shots - much to the delight of the families enjoying their picnics - and it was then on to Broadoaks, where the festivities could really begin - plenty of fine food and drink, mini golf, tree climbing, swings, speeches, dances - a true delight for all ages :)
Congratulations Lisa and John, you were such a pleasure to take photos for! :) x
