A Winter Gem of a Wedding at the Gilpin Lake House, Windermere

As well as those big, weekend weddings, I am lucky enough to enjoy shooting many smaller ones midweek, right throughout the year. Sometimes it feels like photography is an even more important factor for a small, intimate wedding - for the images that the couple share will be even more treasured by those family and friends who weren't there on the day itself.

Caroline and Matt chose the Gilpin Lake House for their venue, and what an excellent choice it was. The Lake House is one of my favourite venues, so secluded, with it's own lake and woodland to explore - and exciting things to discover as you adventure - y'know, like it's own swimming pool, it's own woodland spa with floor to ceiling glass to take in the view of your own lake...that kind of thing!

I spent 4 hours with the wedding party, which was just the right amount of time to get all the shots we needed, without being too obtrusive. It was a real honour and pleasure to be part of their lovely day :)

Venue: The Gilpin Lake House
