Askham Hall shines bright for a summer wedding

Askham Hall is one of my all time favourite wedding venues. It's a photographer's dream - it's not even just like working in one fantastic location - it's like working in several at the same time! First up you have the amazing Hall itself, the former home of the 7th Earl of Lonsdale, drenched in so much history that you can't help but imagine all the stories it has to tell. Then, after a short stroll across a picturesque courtyard, through an ancient stone tunnel, and up an alleyway of thick apple trees, you'll find yourself at the Bank Barn...a stunningly stylish blank canvas with loads of character and space. Oh, and beneath that is the quirky cafe area - think low beams, sheepskins on the benches, the smell of good post-dinner coffee - and then there's the outside area with the wood-fired pizza oven...and the adventure playground for the kids, so you can drink your wine in the sun while they play...and the Romany caravan, the spa, the restaurant....and then THE GARDENS...I don't even know where to start with those. So yeah, it's a *pretty alright* place for your special day ;)

Congratulations to Victoria and Peter, and thank you for letting me share some of the photos of your beautiful wedding - I had real "guest envy" at this one!
