Armathwaite Hall Weddings and Elopements

Armathwaite Hall is a stunning wedding venue situated on the other side of the Lakes from where I live. Although it’s quite a trek it’s the most beautiful drive and I always look forward to weddings there. It is right on the shores of Bassenthwaite and has so many lovely options for your ceremony. You can choose one of the stately rooms with great views, or in good weather enjoy the light and bright gazebo on the lawn.

Armathwaite Hall is the epitome of stately home elegance. This means your wedding photography can have such great variety. I love the drama and dark moody feel of the interior, with great light whatever the weather. It really only takes 10-15 minutes to get these type of portraits indoors. It’s time to wander through the beautiful grounds down to the lake for some lighter, wilder shots that really capture the feel of a Lakeland wedding. Fun Fact – did you know that Bassenthwaite is the only actual Lake in the Lake District?! All the others are Meres or Waters – so if you’ve been saying Lake Windermere all your life then it’s technically incorrect!
