Cote How Elopement – A Wild and Adventurous Lakes Wedding
A Cote How Elopement is always a joy to photograph – I love this place!
Konstantinos + Lisa chose the beautiful Cote How on the shores of Rydal Water for their secret elopement in late May. The weather was a little changeable but they decided to brave an intimate ceremony just outside the barn. Who couldn’t resist that stunning Lakeland backdrop in return for a little drizzle?!
After their vows, their young labrador Koda joined us from the fab Ambleside Dog Walker, who had looked after him for the morning. We then all marched up to the caves (stopping alongside Rydal for lakeside photos on the way). You really do get such a good mixture of images doing this route. It’s fairly steep to walk up to the caves (especially in a wedding dress with an excited dog!) but it’s just such a magical location. The caves are also great in any weather, providing a bit of shelter (with the odd drip!)
Konstantinos and Lisa really wanted to make the most of their Cote How elopement photos, so after returning for some refreshment, we sent off on the next part of the adventure. A short drive to Ambleside and up The Struggle and we arrived at Kirkstone Pass. This is another amazing location for wedding photography. It has very easy access from the car park yet looks so dramatic. It does get VERY windy up there – so wedding photos tend to be quick, efficient and dramatic – I love working in this way!
We said our goodbyes on what felt like the top of the world, then they disappeared off into the distance for Michelin Starred afternoon tea at The Forest Side Hotel.
What a perfect wild and luxurious elopement!
